Outstanding features
Cas Catala is the locality which is nearest to the capital, Palma de Mallorca , and has an excellent infrastructure of hotels. Cas Catala is the beginning of Calvia from here you can reach all the other areas of the municipality through the 'Paseo Calviá', which unites them all and totals 32 kilometres in all, so it results in being a very emblematic part of the municipality of Calvià.
Its coast has a variety of coves and three small isles with the following names: Sa Caleta, Sa Torre and S'Estenedor or des Pas which give the area the name Ses Illetes. Facing the bay there are the remains of a military fort dating back to the XIX century and a defence tower which originally served as a watchtower where, if there were any suspicion of danger the watchman made signs to the locals to warn them, it was part of the defence system of Calviá.

It is possible to enjoy playing this sport in the Golf Santa Ponsa I, Golf Santa Ponsa II, Golf Santa Ponsa III, Real Golf de Bendinat and Club de Golf de Poniente.

Within the boundaries of the municipality of Calvià there are five marine sports clubs: Portals Nous, Portals Vells, Palmanova, Puerto Portals and Port Adriano. All of these have the best possible in installations and services for any of the sports related to the sea.
