Outstanding Features
La Lonja de Palma de Mallorca or Sa Llotja is one of the works of art of the Gothic architecture in Mallorca. It was built by Guillem Sagrera between the years 1420 and 1452 and was the headquarters of the College of Merchants.
The neighbourhood of the La Lonja is to be found encircling this phenomenal example of Gothic architecture in the Mediterranean. The neighbourhood is one of the prettiest of Palma and one of the most emblematic of Mallorca, partly because of its location in the old part of Palma and because it is only a stones throw away from the sea. Its narrow and close streets offer multitudes of services such as restaurants, bars, shops and galleries. It is one of the popular areas for night life in Palma.
Aquatic Activities
The Bay of Palma is an almost magical place to enjoy yourself on a pleasure boat or a sports boat. For this reason, sailing is the cream of the crop of the water sports, but not forgetting other methods of navigation, including the commercial. To be able to do sailing, there are in existence a number of sports clubs of which the most outstanding are the Real Club Náutico de Palma, Escuela de vela Calanova and Club Náutico de Portitxol.
Golf Courses
The following golf courses are excellent both for their installations as well as for the wide range of services that they offer, the Club de Golf Son Vida and Son Gual.
Impressions
La Lonja is a charming neighbourhood of Palma. It is located in the heart of the Old Town, every part seems to have an air of past times, Medieval and Renaissance. Its well known restaurants and bars are part of the surroundings enhancing even more what is already a very attractive zone.
