The gastronomic octopus fair in Portoclom

As in previous years this year, once again, Portocolom will host the third edition of the great octopus fair. It will take place the 27^th, 28^th and 29^th on June around the great port of Portocolom. After the first edition of the fair the public responded better than expected and this year the bars participating triple the ones present in the first edition.




 

The fair consists of different bars, restaurants and even bakeries offering their best octopus dishes as well as some other delicious tastings. The dishes can be served in "tapas" (small bread based tastings), or as a main dish. The prices will range from 1.50 to 15 Euros, depending on the choice. For the organizers and the mayor Biel Tauler this is a great opportunity for our island and our chefs to offer their best products, and for our gastronomy to expand across the world. There will be a great variety of bars and restaurants taking part, more than 35. A record number! Each of these places will be given a streamer with an octopus holding cutlery on one hand, and a glass on the other. A unique sign which tells victors where they can taste the best octopus delicacies.  Some of the most famous octopus dishes will be present including: octopus to the Galician (pulpo a la Gallega), octopus carpaccio, octopus pizza, octopus pie, Majorcan octopus with sobrassada, etc½

 



 

This is a great opportunity for tourists and locals to enjoy the best part of our Spanish cuisine, and at the same to visit one of the most beautiful ports in Majorca; Portocolom. Apart from this gastronomic event the port can offer many other leisure activities for kids and adults, as well as the best beaches in its surroundings.
