The year 2024 has marked a milestone in the history of Malaga TechPark. The technopolis has reached new heights, breaking records across all key indicators: number of companies, revenue, and employment. With a total of 715 companies, a 4% increase from the previous year, and 72 of them being foreign firms from 22 countries, the park strengthens its growing international projection. Since its humble beginnings in 1992, when it had only three buildings, Malaga TechPark has evolved into a fundamental pillar of the local economy, comparable in importance to the tourism boom of the Costa del Sol.

Global Expansion and Strategic Alliances
This growth has not been limited to the local sphere; Malaga TechPark has achieved impressive international expansion, with its brand present in 211 cities across 77 countries on five continents. This expansion has been made possible thanks to a global strategy that fosters collaboration with various business, academic, and institutional networks, as well as joint projects with other technology parks worldwide. Additionally, Malaga TechPark is part of strategic networks such as the European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN), the EuroQuity platform of Bpifrance, and the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance. These affiliations not only facilitate the internationalization of local companies but also promote knowledge exchange and global innovation. In the last five years, the park has hosted over 300 international delegations, including representatives from universities, governments, and other technology parks, further reinforcing its role as a hub for technological innovation.

The economic impact of Malaga TechPark is clearly reflected in its results. In 2023, the technopolis achieved a record revenue of €3.46 billion, representing a 25% increase compared to 2022. Moreover, it employs over 25,000 workers in 687 companies, consolidating itself as a key driver of economic and technological development in the region. This growth has been supported by collaboration with Andalucía Trade, the Andalusian government agency that works to promote economic transformation and competitiveness among local companies. Thanks to this alliance, the park has strengthened its ability to attract investment and generate employment in strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and renewable energies.

Innovation in Housing: The First Residence for Employees
The increase in business activity has led to a higher demand for worker accommodation, prompting the development of the park's first 'flex living' building. This residence, set to open in the summer of 2025, will offer flexible housing solutions for professionals arriving at Malaga TechPark. Managed by The Residential Club, the complex will feature 105 housing units and 186 beds, along with amenities such as coworking spaces, a gym, a swimming pool, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, common rooms, and a dining area. Designed under ESG standards, this project represents a milestone in providing sustainable and high-quality housing within Malaga's technological ecosystem.

Industry leaders such as Google, which established its cybersecurity center on Paseo de la Farola—its third facility of this kind in Europe after Munich and Dublin—along with Vodafone, with its innovation center in Martiricos, and Freepik, headquartered in the city center, have all chosen Malaga as a strategic base for their operations. Furthermore, tech companies in Marbella and other locations along the Costa del Sol continue to bolster this thriving ecosystem.
