Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nova Mallorca Real Estate recommends the best excursions in Mallorca: Sea and hiking

There is no doubt about it, spending all day sun-bathing and enjoying the wonderful beaches of Mallorca is not a bad idea, however, it does feel more rewarding when you earn that refreshing dip. Mallorca has always been a dream destination for outdoor activities, so the team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nova Mallorca Real Estate have selected four of the best hiking trails that guarantee a well-earned swim at the end.

From Deià to Cala Deià

This short route is perfect for non-experienced hikers looking to know a little about this side of the island, although you can always reach Cala Deià by car, we recommend hiking from the village of Deià. This route can be completed in half an hour and is relatively easy. Along the way, you will enjoy an up-close view of the beginning of the well-known Dry-Stone Route, possibly the most famous and most well-preserved hiking route in Mallorca, which runs along 90km of the Serra de Tramuntana. From this point on, the way to the beach is easy to follow, making it impossible to get lost as it’s indicated with signposts. Once you arrive you can cool off with a swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy a well-deserved fish dish in the restaurant. Don’t miss this opportunity to take a look at our catalogue of luxury villas for sale in Mallorca to find your new dream home close to the Serra de Tramuntana.

Sa Costera

This hiking route is longer, lasting approximately 4 hours, but that doesn’t make it harder. Crossing the beautiful Bàlitx valley, surrounded by water and stone, one can enjoy its impossible ravines. Starting at Ses Barques viewpoint and following the pathway until reaching Cala Tuent, where you can enjoy a beautiful place to rest and freshen up.

Torrentes de Mallorca

Mallorca´s small size makes it impossible to have long rivers; instead it has torrents, which adds a more dynamic touch to the island. Canyoneering is a sport that can be dangerous, you have to ensure that you are well equipped and, if necessary, be accompanied by an experienced guide. When practiced safely, it can be an excellent activity to practice in Mallorca.

Torrent de Mortitx

The Mortitx torrent is one of the most impressive canyons of our mountain range and one of the most spectacular places that Mallorca has hidden within its entrails. The proposed route is mostly made up of gazing from a distance at the large natural wrinkle formed in the landscape, as the full route to the sea is only recommended for experts in torrent descending. After about 45 minutes of descent, you can follow the riverbed or choose the path which goes down to the Rafal d'Ariant.

Torrent de Pareis to Sa Calobra

The most famous torrent in Mallorca is the Torrent de Pareis which since 2003 has been declared a Natural Monument. Sa Calobra beach, the mouth of the torrent which lies between the rocky walls facing towards the Mediterranean is one of the most recognizable postcard designs and images of our island. This descent is of greater difficulty and we therefore strongly advise to be accompanied by an expert guide.

Enjoy the other side of the island with your own property from our real estate agency in Mallorca

There are several travel guides and websites with extensive information about all of these routes and many others. What you will also find is a great offer of luxury villas for sale in Mallorca which will allow you to enjoy all what we have previously mentioned. We recommend being well informed about the route and taking the right safety measures before giving them a go. Now it's time to enjoy!
