Palma - number one place to live in the world
Palma - number one place to live in the world.
The city of Palma, capital of the Balearic Islands, has been chosen as the best place to live in the world by the famous London newspaper "The Times." Palma lies above a list of 50 opponents beating places like Toronto, Auckland, Hoi An (Vietnam) and Berlin. It is the favourite destination of the British and as a result Majorca received 3, 3 million tourists from the United Kingdom last year.
The judges and therefore the ones that brought up the list were Helen Davies (an editor of Home and a book reviewer) and Alex Chesterman (a leading entrepreneur CEO of Zoopla Property Group.) The qualities they based the list on and the ones they were looking for were quality of life, climate, environment and facility of assimilation for British citizens. "A picturesque old town, beaches within walking distance and a great climate -- and it's an easy place to assimilate as a Briton abroad" they stated, therefore giving Palma the best results. Adding on, they found many other positive aspects to this city including close distance to the airport, cheap and short flights to the UK, charming places like the beautiful "EsTrenc" beach, Port of Andratx or the delicate town of Deia, etc½
"We have travelled wild cities and towns with spectacular beaches where one can enjoy the best of family life, as well as the favourite cities to initiate a career½ but our winner for 2015 is Palma," they indicated and concluded with a simple "it has it all."
