Discover the beautiful and unique natural areas of Mallorca, they are very close to your home or business on the island

Living in Mallorca, most of the big cities in Europe are only two hours away by plane and therefore within easy reach. Their beauty, history, culture and everything else they offer exert a strong attraction, even on those less inclined to travel. But to live dazzling experiences, it is not necessary to leave our island!

The tranquillity, privacy and our beautiful nature are the main reasons why so many people choose to buy a property in Mallorca. Mallorca has unique settings, capable of fascinating those who visit our destination for the first time, but also of continuing to offer postcard views to residents. The locations that we propose below will not only surprise you, but also encourage you to explore every corner of the island, starting from your chosen property for sale in Mallorca.

Green, virgin and authentic: the natural areas of Mallorca

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nova Mallorca wants to provide you with a quality service, tailored to your needs that may arise during your stay on the island. It's not just about adding value to your property purchase or rental, but also about providing you with extensive knowledge about the location of your dream property, something that can open up opportunities for you.

One of the natural areas par excellence in the north of Mallorca is S'Albufera, which was declared a Natural Park in 1988. With a surface area of 1,646 hectares, it also is the largest and most important Wetland Area in the Balearics, declared of "international importance" under the Ramsar Convention.

Located in the municipalities of Muro and Sa Pobla, its surface area and features have fluctuated with changing sea levels. In summer, the park is visited by many bird watchers and other nature enthusiasts who are curious about the wonders of its fauna and flora. Those with the intention of acquiring a rural property will find here an inspiration for a lifestyle that is increasingly in vogue. The great biodiversity present in S'Albufera attracts serious bird watchers, residents and nature enthusiasts alike. They all come to learn more about the park but, above all, to enjoy the great variety of wildlife that it shelters.

Lovers of the rustic and the traditional, who want to rent a finca, or a typical 'possesió mallorquina', will find an idyllic place in the Natural Park of Mondragó, which has access to the sea, and is surrounded by olive and orange groves. This natural reserve has 785 hectares (of which 95 are public property and 690 are in private hands), and is an area of incalculable value. It is located in the southeast of the island, in the municipality of Santanyí.  Centuries of agricultural and livestock activity have created a mosaic of different environments that give it a great diversity of landscapes. When visiting the area, it is possible to see many endemic plants and species, including different types of orchids, and the Mediterranean tortoise. With a description like that, who can resist?

Investing in hotels and other tourist businesses next to the most beautiful natural areas of Mallorca

Mallorca's tourist industry is by far superior to other similar destinations on the Iberian Peninsula, as we told you in our post about the aspects to take into account when buying a hotel on the island. Hotels near natural areas are in great demand and can be very attractive for entrepreneurs who wish to travel to the island in search of business opportunities in the hotel sector.

There are currently a large number of companies in the pipeline and, among the main issues to be considered, the degree of protection of the soil is a key factor. Whether buying or renting, knowing more about Mallorca's protected areas, such as the Natural Park of Sa Dragonera or the Natural Park of the Peninsula de Llevant, provides useful insight into what's on offer.
