Tramuntana Mountain Range
For bikers looking for inland routes and mountain curves, the Sierra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is undoubtedly the main attraction of the island. The incredible mountain range that stretches along the coast like a spine offers incredible views that can be seen from any of its many viewpoints.
From Palma you can leave towards Sineu and on the way you can cover a large part of the mountain range. With about 110 kilometers and 3 hours of travel, it is an easy route to adapt to any pace and need. The main attractions and recommended stops on this trip are the Mirador d'en Banya, the Serral Ses Monges Park, the Castle of Alaró and the Avenc de Son Pou. Undoubtedly, you will fall in love with the beautiful landscapes and views that the mountains of Mallorca will offer you.
Sa Calobra, for those who love curves
The Sa Calobra route has one of the best roads in Mallorca and is considered a paradise for bikers. With 800 curves, this journey will surprise you with wonderful views of both the mountains and the turquoise blue of the coast. Along the way you will also find villages, quiet corners and, of course, the famous curve known as "the tie knot".
If you are coming from Palma you only have to take the Ma-10 and, from there, you can enjoy the curves with total tranquility. The route ends at one of the most spectacular beaches of the island, Sa Calobra, little frequented because of its difficult access and framed between two large cliffs.
The northwest, a very complete route
If you only have one day to enjoy the island, this route is the most recommendable because you will get a very clear idea of what the island has to offer. Between historical tourism, beaches and viewpoints we will trace the route from Palma to the northwest coast of Mallorca. When planning it, we must take into account the viewpoint of Sa Creueta in Formentor, a protected natural park that extends like an extremity of the island, as well as the monographic museum and the medieval wall of Pollensa.
You can also visit the natural park of S'Albufera, the Necropolis, the Natural Park of the Peninsula de Llevant and even the Sanctuary of San Salvador in Cala Torta. On the northwest coast of Mallorca there is much to see and much to enjoy.
