Majorca - Second best Island in Europe and sixth in the world.
Majorca was recently chosen as the best place to live in the world by the British newspaper The Times beating destinations across the world due its picturesque old town, fancy shops and slow-paced charm. It is chosen by many as a place of residence and for many more as a common destination to spend their vacations. So who better than the visitors themselves to rate the best islands in Europe and in the whole world.
That is why the famous travel website company "TripAdvisor" that provides reviews on travels and traveling forums has created the Travellers Choice awards. The company has elaborated a list positioning the islands in Europe and in the world on a top ranking. The ranking is based on the quantity and quality of the comments left on the website and the classifications of hotels, restaurants and places of interest located on the islands over a period of 12 months.
Majorca holds the second position in Europe and the sixth in the world. The list includes 10 Spanish islands, four of them Balearics: Majorca, as mentioned above, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera. For the best in Spain, Majorca, a traveller suggests the must-see places in the island such as the Drac caves, the glass factories, Porto Cristo, the Lluc monastery, Sóller, Sa Calobra, and of course , Palma, the capital including its beautiful cathedral and the Bellver castle. If you haven't visited some of them make sure to put them on your to do list.
Ibiza is positioned sixth in Spain, Menorca seventh and Formentera eighth. The first position in Europe is given to Santorini, Greece and Maui in Hawaii obtains the first in the world.
