Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition in Majorca
The Sophia foundation hosts an exhibition presenting the breath taking inventions of
Leonardo Da Vinci, the great Renaissance genius. It opened its doors on the 10
th of July and since then the visits have been numerous and the public has responded better than expected. Luckily the exhibition is on until the 30
th of September, so you still have time!
The exhibition includes the chariot, the turntable, the helicopter, parachute, etc. All ideas taken from various manuscripts and sketches of Leonardo, including the Codex Atlanticus dating from 1490. Visitors will also be able to see and admire a reproduction of the wings, six feet long, the bike and the bust of Leonardo, reproduced full-scale from the original found in the house where the artist lived.
The whole exhibition is exposed as if it were on the actual Da Vinci studio itself. Therefore the visitors get to feel as if they were actually there. The studio includes reproductions of his unique ideas. The public can enjoy some of the reproductions of those sketches in the exhibition. They have been created by volunteers of the cultural workshop Sophia Fine Arts Foundation. The exhibition shows Leonardos strong bond with nature, as many of the pieces presented in this exhibition are inspired by models collected from nature. Some examples are: flying birds viewed on wings or helicopter, the inventor of the displacement system copied from certain seeds, etc½
The CEO of the Sophia foundation Antonio Marí has been very excited about this exhibition. He stated that, "This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the fascinating inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci" and that "the creativity and ingenuity of this man logo Renaissance knew no bounds, and you can see through this exhibition is just a small percentage of the reach of his many records."
