In 1974, Muhammad Yunus proved how a small loan of only a dollar and a half to a woman was sufficient for her to maintain her bamboo furniture businessand her family. The microcredits were just born, an idea that provided economic stability at a very low cost to millions of people worldwide.
The exhibition "Inventions. Ideas that change lives" presents some of the most revolutionary inventions applied to countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.This case of microcredits earned the founder the Nobel Peace Prize and the Prince of Asturias Award for Concord and is an example of what can be achieved by putting focus on people and not on profitability. Today, people around the world are coming up with innovative ideas to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations of our planet.
