Exhibition: I have not come to see the Sky
The CCA
Andratx features until 9th February 2014 the new exhibition of the Spanish artist, living in New York, Pepa Prieto (Granada, 1973).
"I have not come to see the sky" presents a selection of her recent paintings created between 2012 and 2013.
Her work revolves around the idea of "change." As she herself says, her art is like the pages of a diary, but visual, where she pours her emotions and experiences and at the same time investigates looking for new territories and sensations.
Throughout the nearly 20 pieces in the exhibition, concepts such as change, transformation or metamorphosis are clearly present in her work and give rise to what Prieto calls their universes: virtual landscapes, jungles, ritual objects, totemic constructions, rituals, patterns and coloursand extractions from memory.
Pepa Prieto's work has been shown in many cities of the world: Dallas, Mykonos, San Francisco, Beirut, Zaragoza, among others.
