Can Picaford´s traditional fire festival - "Correfoc"

The traditional Majorcan Fire Run (Correfoc) is a festival unlike anything you have ever seen and is a must see if you are lucky enough to be in Mallorca when one takes place. This unique and thrilling eventistaking place this year in Can Picarford (North coast) on the 4th of Augustfrom 11:30 pm to 12:00 am.

The fire-runs are among one of the most striking features present in Majorca´s festivals. It is a spectacular event that consists of devils and demons dressed in the most laborious costumes walking through the town letting off Fireworks and breathing flame sun til they arrive at the centre of town. During the parade they dance totypical Spanish music and invite theau dienceto dance and cheera long with them. The Crown it self isable to get extremely close to the flames (wearing always appropriate clothing) and is evenableto touch the demons and accompany them during part of their walk.The visitors are also welcome to visit the restaurants and small bars in Can Picaford that will be open during the show to offer food and beverages at any time.

It is a very different and innovative thing to see that only takes place in some countries and at very specific dates. This event is full of adrenaline andexcitement. Thevisitors are able to see and enjoy some of the best traditions and secrets that Majorca is able to offer.
